NMC2 (AP9631) not getting IP when connected to the Linux box directly

NMC2 (AP9631) not getting IP when connected to the Linux box directly

    Hi all,

    I have a server PC with 4 LAN ports here. One is used to connect to the network. I want to connect two X3000 Smart UPSes with NMC2 to the other two ports (rationale being that I do not want to involve switches since I would need to connect them to the UPS as well in case of power failure which I do not want to do - long story)

    So far trying with one. The only way to get IP is to connect cable from Serial (yes serial not Ethernet) port to my corporate network. Then I get the IP and can talk to the UPS. If I connect Network port nothing happens (card is bilking slow red/orange all the time - yes I tried so called format).

    Then I try to connect it to my server directly (patch or cross cable same story), I do not get IP on any of those ports (Serial and Network). If/when I connect Windows PC to the same port on the server I immediately get proper IP on Windows machine). I checked my lease and it is not an issue, there are IP addresses available. There seems to be something wrong with the UPS.

    This UPS came to me from another company which was supposed to develop some software to control it for us (we need special stuff, PowerChute will not do the trick), so it might be that NMC2 is broken ...

    Any advice to check what is going on or how to confirm if UPC is OK?

    OK, so the issue is that my ML350G10 network cards are able only to connect on 1Gbit, and AP9631 can only talk at 10/100Mbit.

    Hence the problem.
