Can I still get password reset for an old APC 9210? If so, what info is needed?
In order to reset the password, we would need the serial number of the AP9606 network card installed in the AP9210. With the serial number I can generate a backdoor password you can use with the default username that would allow you to login, and then change the password to what you want.
I have three AP9210 units. They are older units with the Ethernet built-in. There is no network card. I have the IP addresses and am able to get to the login prompts via web browser. Here are the serial numbers:

Backdoor passwords are as follows:
You'll need to use lowercase "apc" as the username, and attempt to login through either local serial or telnet (it won't work over the web).
Is it possible that telnet is disabled on the units?
It's possible to disable telnet on the card, so if it's not connecting that's one possible cause (especially if you can pull up the login web page). If telnet is disabled on the card, then unfortunately the only way to reset the password would be locally with the serial cable.
That's what I figured. Is the serial cable just a null modem cable or something else?
Where can I buy the serial cable needed to do this? Or find the correct pinout?
The cable is null modem part number 940-0103.
Ugh! I drove up to Atlanta, from Orlando to set these up. I got the needed cable and that works - at 19,200, 8, 1, none. But none of these passwords work. I used apc as username (with and without quotes). No joy. I brought the third unit (WA9913004664) and the cable home. Hoping we can get working passwords so I can get these units working.
I got the cable. It works. But none of the logins work.
I re-ran the tool to create the passwords and the ones Matt had provided in November are correct based on the serial number.
Did you use 2400 baud rate?
BTW: As I have entered in other threads support for these units ended a long time ago.
No. The only speed I can even get to a login prompt with is 19,200. I really don't need much in the way of support. Just working back door passwords. Thanks.
