Hello. Non-hardware guy here, trying to cope.
We inherited a Smart-UPS when we purchased our current building. Its only use is to keep our Comm Gear - switches and router - up during a generator cutover.
Walk through this morning indicated that it is in a fault mode. It is in bypass due to showbox a potential inverter failure. Two related questions for anyone who can answer.
How do we test for this? Reboot it? Or do we need to remove load and reboot?
Can we do said test while keeping our gear up and running.
Thanks. nusps tracking
You can try "dead braining" the unit but if there is an inverter fault then that's a hardware failure.

No load can be attached.
