Can the SMT1500c shut down without using PowerChute?

    I have a simple setup for a home office.  I decided to get the SMT1500c to have the best UPS for the equipment.  I have another SMT1500c for a server. 

    Can this UPS model be programmed to shut down without using the PowerChute software?

    Hi Lynnea,

    When you say shutdown, itself or the PC?

    The best option is to use PowerChute but if you connect a UPS (most UPS) to a Windows PC via USB it will give you the ability to treat the UPS in the same way a laptop treats a battery, you will not be able to control the UPS.
