The SRC3000 XLI + Pack UPS switches in the absence of network power, when the Electric Generator enters service, it does not switch. If it does, when the mains voltage returns. The ups are being monitored by a monitoring software through the SNMP board. The monitoring shows that the cycles (Hz) that the GE delivers are correct (50 Hz. For Argentina). The query: What would be the probable failure and its solution. You can touch some parameter in the UPS to correct this fault.Thank you
The most common cause of a UPS running on battery while being powered by a generator is some type of voltage/frequency distortion on the output of the generator. A UPS can be sensitive to the waveform the generator is producing, which would mean the UPS sees the input as "unacceptable". SmartUPS ship at a factory default setting of "high sensitivity", which means they have a tighter range of acceptable voltage. To try and fix this, you could start by lowering the sensitivity of the UPS to the lowest setting, which would allow for the widest range of acceptable voltage.
Additionally, you would also want to make sure the generator is sized properly for the load it is powering. especially if the load is non-linear, like network or server equipment. We have more information here: https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA158891/
