SMC1000C connection

    Hey guys,

    I recently purchased some new APC SMC1000C UPS devices.  These devices are connected to our network and do not appear to be picking up a DHCP IP. There is zero detail in the manual beyond stating that once the device is plugged in you should scan the QR code and register the device.

    Do these devices have a standard default IP if they do not receive a DHCP address? is there anyway to set an IP using the menu on the front?

    Hi,

    The SMC1000C is designed to communicate with the APC SmartConnect Portal. The IP is assigned via DHCP. The UPS does not allow assigning an IP manually. Once connected to your network it will negotiate with the DHCP server to obtain an IP. Once an IP has been assigned it will then establish communications with the APC SmartConnect Portal. 

    To view the device you must first register it with the portal. To register go to https://smartconnect.apc.com/welcome. You must create an account and then you can register the UPS using the QR Code or enter the product ID and Key manually.
