backup power supply for hospital bed

  • Hi, I'm hoping that somebody here can help me. I use a hospital bed that uses electricity when I need to raise or lower the head of the bed, the foot of the bed, or to raise/lower the bed itself. We have been having some bad storms and our power went out twice in the span of 24 hours for a total of 14 hours. I was either unable to get into bed or unable to get out because of it. I need to get into the bed with it flat and then raise my head up pretty much all the way in order to sleep comfortably (it is hard for me to breathe when I lay flat or too low), plus I need my legs & feet raised to prevent swelling.

Anyway, I need a backup power supply that will allow me to raise or lower the parts of my bed to allow me to get in or out during a power outage. I use the controls only a handful of times per day on average. I have mobility issues so I am unable to use a regular generator that goes outside. So is there something available that I could use?
