I have some old Smart UPS 5000 series devices with NMC1 AP9617. The 768bit ssh host key length on these devices is causing us a problem with ssh logins. I need to replace the default host keys on these with 1024 bit keys. I've tried the apc security wizard cli tool but it fails to load the cl32.dll even though it's in the same dir as the exe. The GUI version is no longer available on the APC site so I haven't been able to try that. Has anyone managed to find a way to solve this issue?
The SecWizCLI isn't compatible with the NMC1, that's not what's causing your issue but it's worth knowing.
I was able to use this wizard to create 1024 bit host keys. After uploading the keys to the individual devices I am now able to log in using up to date openssh clients.
