I'm somewhat new to the 9630 NMC2. I have updated the firmware and configured email alerts and verified that they were working but I cannot find how to configure the 9630 NMC2 to send out an alert when the power is restored or the UPS is no longer on battery.

How can I get email notification for these types of events?
PowerChute used to send out alerts when the power was restored but I have locations where there is not a PC, Server or VM host nearby where I can use the PowerChute Agent software along with a USB cable. I was hoping the NMC2 cards would offer similar functionality. I know that I can use third party monitoring software and make an event to send out alerts when say the input voltage is lost or restored but I was hoping the NMC2 cards would do that out of the box.
Is there something I'm missing in the NMC2 notification settings?

When you add an email recipient to an NMC2, the default is that alarm generation is enabled and you'll get every possible email event every 1, 2, 5, or 10 minutes for the repeat interval. I would say 99% events are for every two minutes. This event you're referencing is what we call a "clearing event" for the UPS on battery event. If you received UPS on battery event without issue, you definitely should've received no longer on battery automatically.

You can follow that to manually check the event ID code for the UPS no longer on battery event and make sure it is enabled like this:

You can make sure yours looks similar. Clearing events just happen as it is not persistent like the initiating action so that is why there is just enabled/yes or no versus repeats and delays and frequency settings.

So If I pull the power on one of the UPSs and cause an input power event and then wait say 5-10 seconds and plug it back I should have gotten an email alert when the event cleared even if the event was under the 2 minute interval. I don't have to wait 2 minutes for it to send out a clearing event correct?
I checked my log settings and changed the URL to 0x010A and saw all of my email recipients listed there.
Just in case, I selected all events by informational, warning and severity and applied the default settings back to them for my email recipients. I saw in the article If you configured only critical events to certain recipients then the clearing events may not have been sent.
I'll give it another try and see if it sends the clearing event this time.
That must have been what it was. I must have set it to only send critical notifications and not informational ones.
I just reset the notifications to default and it sent me an alert when the power was restored.
Everything appears to be working now.
Well, I did write the article way back when but off the top of my head, I did not think disabling informational alerts would disable clearing events for critical events that were indeed enabled. But, I haven't looked at in a while and I must have wrote the right thing in the article at the time
