    Dear APC enthusiasts,

I have a Backup-UPS RS 550G and have connected a low power device, a monitor, to the master power outlet.

Now I have set up to shut down the slave outlets if the master does not use less than 10 watts.

The problem now is, that monitor only draws around 10 watts when switching on, later it is below 10 watts and the slave outlets get shut down.....

Why is there no option in Power Chute to completely disable this function?

I would like to have either the slave outlets always powered or be able to set the limit to e.g. 2 or 3 watts for the master.

    Is there any workaround?

Since I use a notebook in my setup I currently have no device for the master that could draw enoguh watts to always have the slaves powered.....

    Thansk for any idea!

    SOLVED

Note to self: read that fine manual ;-)

I just read in the manual the master controll function can be disabled directly on the UPS with its buttons by pressing DISPLAY key and MUTE key for 2 sec.

It is also possible to define a threshold, though the monitor draws that little power when in sleep mode, it´s probably not possible to define a threshold of 2 or 3 watts. In Powerchute the minimum is 10 Watts.
