    Hi!

I have BX600CI-IN UPS which worked fine for almost a year, but now my PC reboots when  there is a typical low fluctuation (visible on my room's tube-light).

I guess my UPS changeover doesn't  kicks in on this typical fluctuation (dang! summer season in India).

I will highly appreciate your valuable suggestions.

    Thanks.

    Hi Lakhbir,

This is typically a sign of  weakening battery. For testing purposes, you can try applying a smaller load. If this load remains powered after disconnecting from utility power, than the issue is related to a weak battery.

    Thanks for quick response.

Battery???? Dear Sir, My UPS battery is in extremely good condition and I have checked it by turning off the main supply (UPS switches well and gives 3 to 4 minutes of backup).

That is also because my battery was seldom used (as we have a GEN-SET which kicks in within 30 seconds during power loss).

First, I guess the UPS should SWITCH TO BACKUP MODE during this TYPICAL FLUCTUATION and then battery should PROVIDE ENOUGH POWER and I am not hearing any TYPICAL SOUND THAT UPS CREATES DURING SWITCHING (when the fluctuation occurs), whereas it SWITCHES VERY WELL during A COMPLETE POWER LOSS.

Further, I would like to mention:

Being a LINE INTERACTIVE UPS, either the CIRCUIT in the UPS should rectify this slight fluctuation OR the UPS should SWITCH to backup (BATTERY) MODE. Which is not happening and my PC REBOOTS.

I have also checked my SMPS (CORSAIR-450V almost brand new) which has passed all the OPERTATIONAL TESTS.

Thanks once again, any more information will be highly appreciated.

Further would like to add: When i turned OFF "BATTERY SAVER MODE" it worked well for a month & 1/2 and now the problem has returned BACK (RANDOM REBOOTS DURING FLUCTUATIONS).

One NEW IMPORTANT FINDING: sometimes INPUT VOLTAGE EXCEEDS 290V i.e. ~300v (permissible input voltage range is 145-290v).

i guess I need to RETURN THIS MODEL AND GET SOME OTHER APC MODEL which works well in the HARSH CONDITIONS. PLEASE SUGGEST ASAP?
